2 years EvaDAT - or: how fast time flies!

2-jähriges

A lot has happened in the last year: our user numbers have increased continuously, EvaDAT was a topic in seminars and meetings as well as in an article in the January/February issue of Bauingenieur des VDI e.V., the platform could be successfully improved in one or the other place and in our social media presence on LinkedIn we could even be happy about our 100th follower a few days ago.

The companies that continued to participate in the development of evaluation examples are those already known from last year: in the case of the special examples, the DBV Working Group Software for Structural Analysis with the members Dlubal Software GmbH (Alexander Meierhofer), RIB Software GmbH (David Krybus Ph.D., Dr.-Ing. Roland Sauer), FRILO Software GmbH (Dr.-Ing. Aleksandra Serafinska, Bert Ziems), SOFiSTiK AG (Prof. Dr.- Ing. Casimir Katz, Ria Tautz), LGA Landesgewerbeanstalt Bayern (Georg Drexel) and Hochschule Darmstadt (Prof. Dr.-Ing. Walter Pauli) as well as for the regular examples Krätzig & Partner Ingenieurgesellschaft für Bautechnik mbH (Dr.- Ing. Elisa Lafuente), Chair of Construction Mechanics and Numerical Methods at the University of Wuppertal (Maximilian Osterkamp), RIB Software GmbH (Mina Nageeb, Dr.-Ing. Roland Sauer) and SOFiSTiK AG (Prof. Dr.-Ing. Casimir Katz). THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR EFFORTS!

Nevertheless, it has to be said that so far fewer examples have been uploaded than expected before the online launch. The added value of the platform is at the same time its biggest problem: It depends on the cooperation of the users. Due to the current extremely high workload in the construction sector, additional tasks such as EvaDAT are difficult to manage in terms of time. So we hope for all those individualists who recognize the added value of the platform and want to contribute a little of their valuable time.

In the phase after the online launch, evaluation examples with very demanding content were uploaded for the most part. On the one hand, this is very advantageous for the quality of the database, but on the other hand, it has certainly increased the inhibition threshold to post examples. It must not be forgotten that the database should represent examples of all levels of difficulty.

Unfortunately, the costs for the administration of the database could still not be covered in large parts. If you as a company also consider the database to be an important tool in structural analysis, it would be nice if you could support it by placing an advertisement. Last year, we would like to thank the companies FRILO Software GmbH, RIB Software GmbH, Schöck Bauteile GmbH and SOFiSTiK AG.

We are not giving up hope and are working to ensure that a breakthrough is now imminent this year.
